Intensive Course on Data ONTAP Operating Systems for IT Administrators
New addition to the Fast Lane programme: Power Workshop covering the use of Data ONTAP 8.0 7-Mode
Hamburg/Berlin, 12th May 2011 – Fast Lane (www.flane.de), a globally authorised NetApp Learning Partner, has recently added a new training course to its programme. The !Accelerated NCDA Power Workshop Data ONTAP 8.1 7-Mode (ANCDABC87) provides a compact preparatory course for the NetApp Certified Data Management 7-Mode Administrator examination. It is therefore primarily intended for IT staff responsible for support and administrative tasks relating to the NetApp operating system.
Theory is combined with practical exercises carried out in suitable laboratory environments to provide the participants with fundamental knowledge about the key features and functions of the Data ONTAP 8.0 7-Mode operating system. Particular focus is placed on the administration of network attached storage and the configuration of storage area networks.
The workshop teaches participants how to configure and administer clients/servers in an NFS environment. A further component covers the operation and troubleshooting of a storage system in a CIFS environment, including management of the associated shares, users, groups and sessions. Over the course of the workshop the participants acquire essential knowledge on the logging of performance data from storage system hardware, operating systems, network connections and NFS configuration files, information that enables more effective troubleshooting. In addition, participants are given an overview of the data security software SnapRestore and the SnapMirror, MetroCluster and SnapVault applications.
